MOODBOARD: BATIK INSPIRATION FROM RUNWAY to YOUR HOME

Batik never die. I got my inspiration from a respected Indonesian fashion designer who committed to Batik exploration, Edward Hutabarat for his collection Part One. Edward who also known as Edo have successfully rejuvenated batik into young, fresh and vibrant feel. Then I get inspiration from Dreamesh and Katherine Rally batik collection to decorate home.

INSPIRATIONAL DESIGN: COLOR BLOCK @ GRAMERCY PARK HOTEL, NEW YORK

I heart this magenta block. It's warm and add some glam too. The interior style looks like British Manor, but in a modern feel. Classic and rich.

INSPIRATIONAL DESIGN: MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL JAKARTA

When I was invited to meet Anggun, I was pretty amazed by the interior of Mandarin Oriental Hotel. First is it's lobby. It's not as extravagant as other hotels' lobby. But what I found great for me it's small but it's warm. Simple but luxurious. Check it out.

MOODBOARD: IKAT INSPIRATION FROM RUNWAY to YOUR HOME

Tenun Ikat or known as Ikat have been an inpiring for some Indonesian fashion designers like Poppy Dharsono and Stephanus Hamy. Looking at their beautiful designs I am inspired to do some moodboard with Ikat interpretation. It's so exciting doing some online research for applying Ikat for interior. Here are my Ikat moodboards.

There are no limits to ways of applying Ikat beautiful fabrics as they come in various patterns and colors. Ikat fabric always adds an elegant, cheerful touch to a design or suggests far away travels, and it creates a beautiful focal point in any room. The beauty of Ikat is that it takes on a life of it’s own. No other colors can be used in the space, and when an Ikat pattern is introduced, the room completely changes.  It creates a striking space! Framing gorgeous scarves or fabrics, can be a great way to introduce color and interest to a room. Ikat can be used in small doses, and still make an impact. A little goes a long way! Amongst simple fabrics, Ikat fabrics can be quite the accent piece.

Thonet bentwood chair in black chosen to complete the concept. Bold color of black bringing the elegance combined with contemporary feel.
