Why me must be choosen as AFX Top Fashion Bloggers 2011? Why must be me going to Asian Fashion Exchange 2011?

Hmm the reason listing are:
  1. I heart fashion much.
  2. I am a serious blogger who craving for the chance to cover fashion weeks, fashion shows ever since I attended Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011
  3. I have passion in writing lifestyle, tough I wrote most about interior design, decoration, I have believe that fashion design is the vehicle for other design to follow the trend. It is fashion that rules the trendy taste. That is why I am so much curiosity about fashion.
  4. My 'Malachi Living' blog has pretty much visitors/pageviews/hits everyweek from numerous different countries. My blog can help spreading the spirit of Asian Fashion Exchange this year to the whole world. I am also active in social medias such as Facebook and Twitter to boost up my blog.
  5. I am not only blogger, I am a freelance writer since I have written some fashion article for a nationwide newspaper in Jakarta.
  6. I'm sure I can represent my country among other Indonesian fashion bloggers for AFX. I want to be the witness of second Asian Fashion Exchange.
  7. I hope this AFX Top Fashion Bloggers event can elevate me and take me to the next level as a serious fashion blogger in the eye of Indonesian fashion people.

Hopefully these seven reasons can take me off to Asian Fashion Exchange 2011.

LADY GAGA IN TEX SAVERIO, AN INDONESIAN PROMISING YOUNG FASHION DESIGNER

Tex Saverio's design from Dewi Fashion Knights at Jakarta Fashion Week 2010 was featured in Cocoperez.com, the fashion blog of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. Referring to a statuesque gown of silver flames and feathers shown during the Jakarta Fashion Week show, Hilton wrote: “We can’t help but think of [Alexander] McQueen when looking at this dress.”

At the prestigious 2005 Fashion Designers Contest (LPM) held on Sept. 15, he was one of the ten finalists. Just a week later, he won the national award in the Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion Award, an achievement that will enable him to compete against designers from other countries of the region in Singapore next year.

His creation for the Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion Award was titled "Dualism". The ten cross-gender fashion designs were presented as the climax of the show on the last evening of the festival, which was held from Sept. 17 through Sept. 24 in 2005. "In fashion, the dualism concept means man and woman. I want to create ready-to-wear pieces that can be applied to men and women," he explained. That evening, the runway was crowded with ten male and ten female models. The topless males posed while the females walked past them. One by one, the females took off a piece of their outfits, and transformed it into something to be worn by the male models -- jackets, robes, shirts and so on. The complicated designs give the models extra work while posing and walking on the runway. It was not the smoothest presentation, yet the applause seemed to go on forever.

Rio first burst onto the scene at a joint fashion show called Rejuvenate in July 2010, sending shock waves through the Jakarta fashion world and the international fashion blogging community. Although he had already worked as a costumier for four years, Rio hadn’t felt ready to show his designs to the public until Rejuvenate.

Tex Saverio is certainly someone to look out for because he’s going to become huge. He stood out amongst the rest of the designers at Jakarta’s fashion week a few weeks ago – particularly for his craft, imagination and for his more couture take on fashion. A scintillating collection of sparkling silvers, frosty eyelids and bedazzling headpieces, the Tex Saverio ‘La Glacon’ collection bears the mark of raw, natural talent.

Rio’s clothes are born of his fantasies. He said that, when he designs, he always pictures the woman who will end up wearing the dress. For the Rejuvenate fashion show, he imagined a sensual and sultry woman.

For the Dewi Fashion Knights show, Rio went the complete opposite with his pale Ice Queen-themed collection. “I wanted to see if I could do something different and still keep my unique character,” Rio said.

The singularity of a Tex Saverio gown comes from its design and the materials used in its creation. Rio likes to experiment. So far, he has adorned his gowns with feathers and faux leather with ornate details crafted by graphic designers. His style embraces a melange of technological and theatrical techniques.

Rio now describes his style as “more dramatic,” and he intends to stay true to it.

Welcoming Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011, Styling Modernity

Jakarta - On the 6th – 12th November 2010, the Femina Group will again hold the most important fashion event in the region, the Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 10/11. It will again take place in the luxurious Pacific Place Mall in Jakarta.

Styling Modernity is the theme of JFW 10/11. By this, the organizer expects that all the collections presented in the event, whether they are Moslem wear, ethnic or contemporary fashion will be presented in a modern style, providing the ultimate direction for fashionistas as well as the general public. “This theme is chosen because we aim to make the Jakarta Fashion Week as a hub that facilitates a dialogue between various streams in fashion, including the heritage in fashion and textile traditions and also all the modern elements of the industry,” explains Baslir Djamal, Chair of the Organizing Committee of JFW 10/11.

JFW 10/11 is fully supported by Sunsilk Co-Creations, Bank BNI, Pacific Place mall, The Municipal Government of Jakarta and The Indonesian Fashion Designers Association (APPMI) and The Indonesian Fashion Designers Council (IPMI).

Highlights include the retrospective show of leading ready-to-wear designer Ghea Panggabean, who is celebrating her 30 year career in fashion. Another key program is the Oscar Lawatta’s show. Oscar is the winner of International Young Creative Entrepreneur (IYCE) 2009 which is organized by British Council. The award was granted to appreciate Oscar’s effort in modernizing and popularizing East Nusa Tenggara woven cloths. Oscar will present a special collection in collaboration with a leading British textile designer to modernize the textile of the province and turn them into a modern collection.

JFW 10/11 is also proud to present the final announcement of the Accessories Designers Awards (LPA) 2010, a bi-annual event which is also organized by Femina Group. JFW 10/11 is also excited to demonstrate Cita Tenun Indonesia fashion show and the parade of the alumni of The Young Fashion Designers Competition (LPM), including Carmanita, Chossy Latu, Itang Yunasz, Billy Tjong, Andreas Odang, Eny Ming. Albert Yanuar, Imelda Kartini, Zacky Gaficky, Hian Tjen, Kursien Karzai, Bethania Agustha, Yunita Kosasih and Danny Satriadi.

“Jakarta Fashion Week 2009 has given a positive effect to my career. I am now engaging with many requests from clients and photo shoots in various media. In my opinion, JFW is right place to show my seriousness in the fashion industry. I really do hope JFW will continuously improve to be a better fashion event in the upcoming years. Thus, this event will be able to show Indonesian designers to a greater world,” says Andreas Odang, a young designer and one of the LPM 2005 finalists who will perform his collections for the second time in JFW.

See you in Jakarta Fashion Week 10/11, Styling Modernity!
